Announcing the 2024 Literary Global Book Award Winners

This past week, the 2024 Literary Global Book Awards winners were announced, and three Read Furiously titles have been recognized as finalists in their respective categories.

So we'd like to take a moment to congratulate each of them.

First was the ninth installment in our One 'n Done series, W(h)ine & Cheese by S. Atzeni which was selected in the Fiction: Novella/Novellette category. 

A campus novel mostly off-campus, W(h)ine and Cheese is a story of friendship, privilege, and bad ideas. A broken heart, something to prove, and discounted dairy products create a perfect storm of disaster at a party where the wine is actually a dollar store garbage can mixed with unidentified blue liquid. This funny, charming novella is perfect for anyone who just wants to leave early.

Then in the Non-Fiction: Social Change category, another of our One 'n Dones, Wind to Space by Rowan Kilduff was selected.

Wind to Space is a call to action to understand how the sparks of humanity and the natural world connect to share mesmerizing secrets of universal identity and belonging. Poet, artist, and ecoactivist Rowan Kilduff has created a breathtaking experience that celebrates the beauty of the natural world. This ecological journal brings together moments of spontaneity, eco activism, liminal space and popular culture.

And finally, Last of the Pops by Adam Wilson, with art by Dr. Demus, Dapit Jamur and Erika Paratore was selected as a finalist for the Graphic Novel category.

In an experimental take on comics as an epistolary novel, this is the soundtrack of a wannabe podcaster, a teen graffiti artist and her estranged brother, a former disc jockey, the newest owner of a vinyl legacy, and a tortured singer on the cusp of greatness. A mixtape for the death of radio, it’s an intimate look at how music shapes us into who we were, who we are, and who we wish to be.
