Making a Difference

An important part of Read Furiously's mission is to encourage equity and a sustainable reading journey for everyone. We believe in literary activism, which we define as using the act of reading to make a difference, inspire movements, and to keep people informed and empathetic.

On a community level, along with hosting LFL Angel Days where we visit Little Free Libraries throughout Central New Jersey and deliver books, Read Furiously has sponsored a Little Free Library in our neighborhood to support literacy in our community and ensure access to free books for the greater Trenton area.  Find us on the Little Free Library Map - Charter #133922

We have partnered with Shopify, Planet, and EcoEnclose to ensure all orders placed through the Read Furiously Book Shop will be shipped completely carbon neutral using recyclable packaging materials. You can learn more about how we do this on our Climate Commitment page.

Read Furiously is also dedicated to supporting literary activism through our press and our bookshop. With each sale we make, 5 - 10% of the proceeds are set aside to support community engagement and various organizations working towards helping to build an equitable and sustainable reading journey.

In the past, we have donated books to Housing Works Books and Edge NJ and have created custom comics distributed for free to comic shops for Free Comic Book Day since 2022.
In the past we have donated to Room to Read and Reading is Fundamental. We also support organization through specific titles we have published.
During the release of The World Takes: Life in the Garden State, proceeds from the sale of the book went to support Bridge of Books Foundation
A preorder drive was done leading up to the release of I Feel Love: Notes on Queer Joy, with proceeds from the book going to support the Transgender Education Network of Texas (TENT).
